The presentation will review how a 16-hospital healthcare system in West Central Florida manages capacity, evacuations, and daily operations in the face of impending hurricanes. Additionally, the speaker will share how lessons learned from weather-related events helped shape capacity management and strategy for today, tomorrow, and the next emergency.

Anna Morgan, MSN, RN, NE-BC
Anna graduated with her BSN from Cumberland University in Lebanon, TN in 2007. She began her nursing career in Nashville, TN in critical care. In 2010, Anna moved to Clearwater, Florida and began working at BayCare Health System. There she was an MSICU charge nurse, preceptor, and STAT nurse. In 2016, Anna graduated from Walden University with a Masters in Nursing Leadership and Management. From 2017-2020, Anna worked as a Nurse Manager of various units, both medical-surgical and critical care. In December of 2020, Anna accepted the role of Director eICU and Central Patient Placement for the health system. In this role she has spearheaded initiatives in network integrity, organizational efficiency and throughput, clinical outcome quality and improvement, and emergency management. She chairs the system Code blue committee, critical care clinical services committee, throughput council, and nursing support collaborative.
